Last weekend it was time again: the Profronde of Almelo! And no, not only for the cyclists who worked up a sweat, but also for us from Twente Personeelsdiensten, because we got to shine with our whole team in the advertising caravan. While others were preoccupied with who crossed the finish line the fastest, we were mainly busy with our challenge: handing out as many sweets as possible to enthusiastic children.
As a proud sponsor of this bike race, we had the opportunity to show our agency in a different light-the light of happy children with full hands of candy and parents wondering how to maintain that sugar rush again. Our wonderful employees made their cars available so we could participate with good advertising for our agency. The result? Two eye-catching cars loaded with candy and stuffed goodie bags that we could enthusiastically throw into the crowd.
We had prepared well. Last year we went through our supply of candy halfway through. This year? Two giant shoppers full of Haribo, Maoam and Chupa Chups! Each car got a bag so big it looked like we were on our way to supply all of young Almelo with treats. The goal was clear: every spectator had to get their hands on something tasty. Kids? Check. Adults? Check. Dogs? Maybe. Unfortunately, we have not been able to completely avoid that....
With three rounds past the enthusiastic crowd, we fortunately got plenty of chances to provide everyone with candy. Tactical aiming, yelling at the kids and occasionally surprising a parent with a blankie, it's all part of the job. But forget us, the cyclists were the real champions of the day!
After our "tough" job as candy-throwers, we had a delicious dinner at Ibiza and then walked on to Nielz, where the party continued. Here, not only were drinks and snacks served, but there was also plenty of time to network and make new contacts. Or maybe future colleagues, because yes, we are always on the lookout for talent, even if they are walking around in a polonaise.
All in all, the Almelo Profronde was again a great success. Thanks to our sponsorship, we were able to show how involved we are in the region as well as in the sporting achievements of others (but still, we'd rather ride in the advertising caravan than cycle ourselves). We are already looking forward to next year, where we will most likely sprinkle candy like confetti again!
Thanks to everyone who encouraged us and a big shout-out to our staff for lending us cars! See you all next year!
