Minimum wage increases from 1 July 2025: what will change?

The increase in minimum wage by July 2025 has been officially announced. Employers and employees would do well to anticipate this change in time. In this blog, read what is changing, what the new amounts are, and what this means for you as an employer or employee.

New minimum hourly wages from 1 July 2025

Since 1 January 2024, a statutory minimum hourly wage, instead of a monthly salary. This provides clarity regardless of the number of hours you work per week (36, 38 or 40 hours). The amounts as of 1 July 2025 are:

15 years € 4,32

Why is the minimum wage rising in July 2025?

The increase in minimum wage by July 2025 stems from the six-monthly indexation based on the development of collective wage rates. With this, the government tries to maintain employees' purchasing power, especially in economically challenging times.

What does this mean for employers?

For employers, this adjustment entails higher wage costs. Do you have staff working at or around the minimum wage? If so, it is wise to:

  • Your update payroll records;

  • Ongoing monitor employment contracts and wage agreements;

  • Your adjust the budget for Q3 and Q4 of 2025;

  • Possibly review tariffs or offers, especially in sectors such as manufacturing, logistics and cleaning.
