Twente Personnel Services

Meet our colleague Agnieszka!

My name is Agnieszka and today I would like to tell something about myself. I was born and raised in Poland, Kępno, where after graduating from school in 2010 I decided to study at the university in Wroclaw. I chose to study law at that time. My study period was quite challenging, because in addition to lectures, I decided to do an internship in a law firm. At the same time, it was a lot of fun and I got the chance to meet great people.

After graduation, I decided to go abroad for a few months. My first choice was Germany (where I still live in the border area). In contrast, my first job was in the Netherlands at a manufacturing company, making sandwiches. Although that was not my dream job, I not only improved my language skills, but also learned patience, discipline and cooperation with different people. And like many other international employees, I started my career this way. As a result, I understand the day-to-day issues our employees may be struggling with and can be a listening ear.

My second chapter in the Netherlands began when I got a job as a customer specialist at an outsourcing company. After a year I was promoted to associate customer specialist and a few months later I got the chance to prove myself as a project specialist. In 2021, I was given the opportunity to be promoted to team leader. Since my team was very multicultural, it was challenging and very interesting to find a way to combine all our international backgrounds and grow together toward our goals.

I joined Twente Personeelsdiensten in May 2024 and soon felt part of this team. I take care of the administration. I explain to our employees the different contracts we have at Twente Personeelsdiensten so that everything is clear to them. I also do the payroll and process collective bargaining agreements in our back office. The different languages I speak come in handy. Besides Polish, I am fluent in Dutch, German and English. In the last 3 months I have already learned a lot and I am sure I can still learn a lot, which I love!

Privately, I live just across the border in Germany with my partner and our dog. Our little friend keeps us busy and quite active. Reading books is one of my favorite pastimes. Especially exciting crime stories are my first choice!

My career path didn't quite go as planned in the beginning, but I am very happy with where I am now. In my opinion, it is important to be open to what life brings you. Sometimes the unexpected turns out to be the best choice you can make.
