Twente Personeelsdiensten

Lukasz four years with Twente Personeelsdiensten. His story!

It has been four years since I took my first steps at Twente Personeelsdiensten. I started as a welder/composer at Matel Metal, but by now I have been working in the office for three years. In that time I traded in my welding helmet for a desk, and it is with great pleasure that I look back on my path to my current role as an intermediary. I'd love to take you through my story!

Like many of my colleagues, I grew up in Poland, in the city of Mielec. After studying Finance & Administration, I started my career in a production environment. At a manufacturer of electrical cabinets, I worked my way up from production employee to team leader. In that role, I gained a lot of technical knowledge, which still comes in handy in my work. In 2015, I decided to take a big step: I moved to the Netherlands. I wanted to further develop myself both personally and professionally. My first jobs here were in the transport sector in Brabant and later at Hutten Metaal in Hardenberg, where I worked as an assembler for five years. At Hutten Metaal, I had a special opportunity: due to a shortage of welders, I was allowed to teach inexperienced colleagues the trade. Many of them came from the region I come from, and I had recruited them myself. This was my first experience with the staffing industry. During this period, I bought a house in Almelo with my wife and learnt the Dutch language - an important milestone in my life here.

After five instructive years, I was ready for a new challenge. Via Nicole and Daphne, I ended up at Matel Metaal in Vriezenveen, where I started work as an assembler. Thanks to my network of former colleagues and acquaintances from Poland, I kept forwarding CVs to Twente Personeelsdiensten and giving advice on suitable vacancies. This grew into quite an occupation. Eventually, I was asked to work in the office one day a week. Soon that became two days, and before I knew it, I had a full-time role in the office. I consider this moment one of the best steps in my career.

In my first months in the office, the focus was on cold acquisition in the region. This resulted in great collaborations with companies such as Kaleidoscope, Baas Metaal, and Brinks Components. Nowadays, I enjoy working as an intermediary, being the link between employees and clients. My main task? Making sure everything runs smoothly and that everyone feels heard. It helps that I can communicate with both Polish and Ukrainian employees in their own language and then translate it into Dutch for my other colleagues in the office.

What makes my work at Twente Personeelsdiensten so special is the focus on personal attention. We are committed to providing our international employees with a safe working environment, with good service and fair remuneration. In every decision we make, this remains the most important starting point. For the future, we have big ambitions. We want to continue to grow, but always with the same core values. Our mission is not only to bind international employees to us, but also to make them feel at home in the Netherlands. That is what makes my work so valuable: making a difference to people. After four years at Twente Personeelsdiensten, I proudly look back on my journey so far. I am eager to see what the future holds and look forward to building on our success together with my colleagues.
